Welcome from the Rector

Welcome to St Peter-upon-Cornhill church; an historic Grade I listed Wren church in the heart of the City of London. Situated on the corner of Cornhill and Gracechurch Street, the site has been a place of Christian worship since the time of the Romans. Lots has changed over the centuries but the church is growing and thriving, perhaps more so now than at any other time. Our aim is to provide a warm welcome and a Christian witness to those working, studying and living in the area and beyond. We hope you enjoy the website and hope you will be able to visit us soon.

William Taylor (Revd)

In 1991 St Peter-upon-Cornhill became the home of the Cornhill Training Course. Now the building is used extensively throughout the week for many people of all ages and from all over the world.

It is widely held that there has been a Christian place of worship on the site of St Peter-upon-Cornhill since 179AD when Lucius, the first Christian King of Britain, founded it as the first church in London.

Help us restore St Peter-upon-Cornhill to former glories and establish its use for the rest of the 21st century and beyond.
